Dear Creative People: Stop Waiting for Inspiration or Desperation

Yesterday I talked about low-hanging fruit.

When energy is low and bank account lower… when our range of motion is limited we need to see if there are opportunities close to us.

So I decided to put together a mini-training in hopes of sharing some ideas that can work in any business.

One thing I wanted to address today was a limitations of inspiration and desperation. Especially in the live in creative entrepreneurs.

These two borders can bring fire to our bones.

They help us to invent and evolve and make stuff happen. Today if you are struggling with getting work because of the coronavirus you will likely be fueled by desperation.

And it does work.

Likewise, being inspired with new, bright and shiny ideas will also help you to create the unthinkable and do the impossible.

Problem is, both of these emotions are fleeting.

We do not control them.

We may be led and dragged by them, but if we want a life with stability, savings, security and success we have to find some sort of predictability to our growth.

How does this relate to ‘low-hanging fruit” and my upcoming mini-training?

Fact of the matter is, my training is actually an assortment of playbooks or systems that should be run consistently.

The beauty of low-hanging fruit is that it doesn’t blossom only in summer.

The concept is that we always have, under our nose potential unseen and ignored.

If we are unaware we struggle.

But also, if we only live by the emotion highs of inspiration and desperation we also miss out on the foundations of growth that can really bring breakthrough and freedom.

This is something I want to address in my training.

Yes, you can and should love your creativity.

I am a creative type. Always have been.

I see the concept of structure, yet the application has always been elusive.

Yet after years of seeing colleagues who have mastered certain habits build a growing baseline of structure, I’ve learned that I must ADD this to my make up.

Being more systematic in my business does not have REMOVE my creativity or passionate side. It makes me a bigger person.

This is something I want to share with anyone who will listen.
