Good Friday without Easter is Like Quarantine without a Cure…
This Easter, we remain in quarantine in our homes like Jesus in the tomb...
Our sacrifice of social distancing aims to stop the spreading of a virus.
Jesus’ sacrifice of life was to take away the eternal punishment of sin.
Like many people ignored the threat of the Corona, many people ignore the life and death of Jesus.
Conspiracy theories are sent via DM, claiming “watch this before Facebook deletes it!!”
Books like the DaVinvi code and the Gospel of Thomas, go viral and try to confuse the story of Jesus.
When hearsay meets reality your confusion bows to evidence.
As loved ones die and you’re unable to visit or have a burial, the truth hurts with a bitter sting.
Still not everyone has the experience and they’ll never know.
Likewise, the few who encounter the love of the resurrected Christ have an experience that can’t be denied.
Regardless of fallen preachers, historical mistakes and religious manipulations, the actual person of Jesus, revealed inside one’s soul… like a paradigm shift of black and white to HD color, you can never unsee reality the same.
Today while we remain in our tombs, waiting to be resurrected back to school, work, restaurants and malls; some of us will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and how he promises to do the same for us.
We worship and celebrate his sacrifice, knowing that one day, when the virus eventually gets us, cancer, heart failure or simply old age… we will rise from death to eternal life.
Not because we were smart. Not because we were sinless. Not because we were “good people” on earth.
But because we ignored the naysayers and trusted in the hope, in the story of Jesus… and what he did on Easter.
Create a Great Day!
